Sash Window Products and Services

South Eastern Box Sash Windows can help you with any aspect of your sash windows. We have been servicing, maintaining, repairing, and replacing sash windows for over a decade. Below is a list of services which may not have their own seperate page:

Counterbalancing Sashes – glass may have been replaced with thicker over the years and weights have not been added to balance the sashes. Sash weights interestingly lose 1 pound in weight every hundred years due to rust!

Replacement sill – Your sill section may have perished generally due to poor decoration over a long period of time, however in rare cases it may be due to rising damp.

Replacement Sashes – Your sashes may have perished in the same way sill section has perished. It is far more common that the lower sash will be rotten.

Re-installing Box Sash – You may have brought a property that has had louvre windows (slats or glass at the top above a large pane of glass) installed within your existing frame. This is good news as we can use the original frame and manufacture two sashes to match the originals as pictured left.

Re-glazing – Glass may be scratched or broken. It is worth remembering any re-glazes causes a minimal amount of damage to the sash and is best to avoid if possible.

Overhauling – Cords may have worn and broken over years. Our sash cord is extremely durable and carries a full five year guarantee.

Replacement Box Sash Window – If your current window is so rotten as a result of poor maintenance and is not economically repairable this will be the solution

General Repairs to Box Windows – Your windows may have minor areas of rot and they will be cut out and splice repaired with a resin bond.

Installing Security & Window Furniture – Modern sash window hardware still comes in traditional styles and can be replaced without affecting the look of your property.

Replacement Sash Pulleys – Pulleys can break down through fair wear and tear.

Sealing/Re-Pointing Box to Brick – Sand Cement pointing can break down and fall away over years. This is a simple problem which can cause problems internally. Your plaster will become damp and damaged.
