What Glass do you use? We always aim to install 4mm-8mm-4mm units. The units are soft coat and Argon filled.
If your installing glass into my original sashes, will I be left without windows overnight? Absolutely not! In a few rare cases we will board up and take sashes away but only strictly with the clients permission. All other restoration is carried out from our 8 metre long vans specifically designed for this type of on site work.

Will double glazing cut out noise entirely? No that is practically impossible since noise will come through your walls and roof. However you will notice the difference and it will be significant.

Will double glazed windows improve security in my home? Two panes of glass are more difficult to penetrate than one. It is always worth remembering no window is impregnable.

How long is your double glazing guaranteed for? All sash window services are guaranteed for five years.

I’m looking to reduce condensation. Will Doubled glazed sashes help? Yes with a few minor changes you can practically eliminate condensation.

I have glazing bars in my windows. Can I still have double glazed sash windows replaced? Yes more often than not glazing bar is laminated to glass so that we can maintain a 22mm ornate looking sash window.

Will double glazing reduce my heating bill? We have had many customers in the past tell us it has cut a significant chunk from there heating bill.

Will double glazing offer me payback on my investment? The honest answer is no. This is because you are unlikely to remain in one house for ten years, however if you factor in the extra comfort whilst living there and the extra saleability of the property double glazing your sash windows when first moving in is a sound investment to make.

We make a lot of noise and need special glazing to help reduce our noise output. Is this possible? Yes there are many acoustic glass options available and have been for several years. We would be happy to help you with your specific requirements.

Will our windows travel fully once installed? If you are having complete replacements then yes this will be no problem. Depending on the thickness of your original sash window frame we may lose a proportion of travel installing sashes. We will do our best to avoid this. In most cases it is not an issue.

What timber do you make your windows from? All of our joinery is made from joinery grade Pine unless requested otherwise. We are happy to source any timber of preference.

I am concerned the heavy sashes will be difficult to operate. Is this the case? No there will be minimal difference since the sashes are perfectly balanced with the weights. There may be a small amount of extra friction on the pulleys but nothing to worry you.
